Oceanside, Oregon: Building Community Through Collaboration

In 2023, following a contentious local ballot measure that failed by more than 2-to-1, community members in the village of Oceanside, Oregon wanted to bring people together on shared collaborative projects. Resident Bruce Jaeger reached out to Nan Devlin, then the executive director of Tillamook Coast Visitors Association (TCVA), for recommendations.

"Oceanside residents took action quickly once priorities were set," said Devlin. "The collaboration was one of the most remarkable I've seen as the result of community-based planning. And fortunately, all three projects qualified for lodging tax investment."
